CUSD was recently recognized for its Visual and Performing Arts strategic plan, which delineates a well aligned, articulated arts curriculum for Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Twelve. Associate Superintendent Dr. Keith Butler and Director of the Coronado School for the Arts Shane Schmeichel accepted a special Recognition from the California Alliance for Arts Education.
The recognition was presented by Mr. Dalogue Smith, President and CEO of the San Diego Youth Symphony, whose son Reed Smith was Valedictorian of CHS in 2014. The recognition was followed by a CoSA student dance performance titled "The Ninety Nine", choreographed by CoSA Dance Instructor Ms. Gina Bolles-Sorensen.Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
