CHS Celebrates the National Merit Commended StudentsPosted by: Shane Schmeichel 2 months ago
Congratulations to the following students for being commended by the National Merit for outstanding academic achievement on the PSAT. The mission of National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) is to recognize and honor the academically talented students of the United States. The following students scored in the top 4% academically on the test: Alyssa Agarwal, Lacey Brauer, Emma Casamassima, Avery Dozier, Zechariah Fuesler, Nathaniel Kim, Cristine Kleint, Carson Levy, Jett Lundblad, Andrew Needham, Georgia Ronis von Helms, Emma Yakutis, Sydney Zoehrer. What does it mean to be a “commended” student:
More than two-thirds of the 50,000 high scorers will receive letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise, but they will not necessarily continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships. Some of these students may be candidates for Special Scholarships provided by corporate and business sponsors.
CHS looks forward to these students having access to these special scholarships. Watch the scholarship announcements in bring of 2019.Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
