Islander Family Email - 11/27/17

Dear Islander Families,

We hope you enjoyed a wonderful week of family, food, and friends!  We have only three weeks of school until our winter holiday, and students will have their final two weeks of semester 1 upon  their return in January.  It is crucial for any students in danger of failing courses to communicate with teachers regarding policies and potential for makeup work and areas of focus for the remaining weeks of the semester.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 28 at 9 AM, is a regularly scheduled PTO meeting.  See you there!

THURSDAY is a LATE-START SCHEDULE for all students (see bell schedule here: Attendance is important, even on this shortened day!

Friday night is Coronado’s Holiday Parade and Open House, with our CHS pep band, cheerleaders, and NJROTC Islander Company all featured in the parade!  Saturday is an opportunity to support our music programs at the annual Band and Choir Boosters’ Artisan’s Alley at Village Elementary, 9 AM.

A financial aid presentation for parents/guardians of senior students will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017, 7:00 PM, in the CHS theatre.  Parents of 9th, 10th and 11th grade students are welcome to attend as well! College financial aid expert, Corinne Schell, will give a general overview of the financial aid process and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Free FUND YOUR FUTURE guides will be available.  If you have questions, please contact Debbie Collins, Counselor,, 619-522-8907x2092.

Finally, congratulations to our CHS Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country Teams, who both qualified for and competed in the State CIF Cross Country Championships in Fresno on Saturday, with the girls’ team placing 8th and the boys placing 13th in Division IV in the state!  We are proud of you!

Thank you,

Jennifer Moore, Principal
