Dear Islander Families,


As we continue in our spring semester, we want to remind our seniors/12th graders especially to keep current on available contests and scholarships open to our students from outside entities.  There is a tab on our website specifically for listing opportunities for our students:

The San Diego Foundation and Kipperman Family offer a special scholarship open to CHS students only.  The deadline is this Friday:

Later in the spring, CHS will release its own Senior Awards application, and we will encourage all students to apply for awards designated by Coronado families, businesses, and community organizations, with recipients determined by a committee of CHS faculty members.  A calendar of senior events, deadlines, and reminders will be sent out in February.


Military families are invited to a presentation on Thursday, February 1 from 6-7:30 PM in the CHS Multi-Purpose room about the GI Bill and educational resources available to you:


Our winter Sadie Hawkins Dance is Saturday February 2 on the Berkeley ferryboat!  ALL students are welcome and encouraged to attend with friends.  No date necessary!  Find more information including permission slip and ticket purchase deadlines:


Our next PTO meeting is Tuesday morning, February 6 at 9AM in the CHS Black Box Theatre.  Hope to see you there!


Please support Coronado’s Talent variety show on Thursday, February 8 at 6:30 PM in the CHS Theatre; proceeds benefit our schools, and you are promised a night of exceptional homegrown entertainment!  For more information and tickets:


Coronado High School National Honor Society Applications are now available!

Students must be a current CHS sophomore or junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 to be eligible.  Paper applications are also available in the front office.  Deadline is 3/1/18.  Please turn your application into your counselor!


The Lions’ Club is sponsoring a Speech Contest with a deadline of February 15.  More info here:


CHS Students Invited to Enter Coronado Rotary Speech Contest:  Coronado High School and CoSA students in grades 9 through 12 are invited to enter the 2018 Rotary International Four-Way Speech Contest. The Rotary Club of Coronado competitions will be held in February with the club winner receiving $200 and moving on to higher level competition:
